Salar (Salt lake) de Aguas Calientes (Altitude approx. 3950m) The white layer on the slopes is salt , not snow....
Northern Chile
Captured at Altitude about 4000m (from small pass between salar de Capur and Salar de Aguas Calientes)
In fact, the visible part of the salar is only a portion of a bigger one called Salar de Talar Mountain in the background (3 summits) is Cerros de Incahuasi (5704m) Mountain on the right (grey and white - white is salt ! ) is Cerro Medano (4503m)
Thanks for featuring that way ... Interesting text and nice association with pictures Somehow reminded me with an abandoned hull on the desert coast of Namibia [link]
